Volleyball Alberta Provincial Championships are fast approaching!
Head Coaches are required to have all 2024 Mandatory Requirements completed:
- PIA:
o CRC – Criminal Record Check
o SDF – Screening Disclosure Form
o SST – SafeSport Training - Mandatory Head Coach Education:
o MHS – Making Headway in Sport
o MED – Making Ethical Decisions ONLINE EVALUATION
o FOV – Foundations of Volleyball eLearning
As well, Head Coaches must have the appropriate NCCP Certification status at the Development Coach and/or Advanced Development Coach levels.
Volleyball Alberta has developed a 2024 Volleyball Alberta Provincial Championship Coach Eligibility Exemption Request Form
Exemption requests will be reviewed and approved by Volleyball Alberta on a case by case basis.
Volleyball Alberta reserves the right to request additional information as required. Head Coaches will be notified of their exemption status by email.
If you are participating as a Head Coach in multiple Provincial Championships representing different age classes and require an exemption for multiple age classes, an exemption request will be required for each event.
PLEASE NOTE: Exemptions will not be considered for the following Mandatory Head Coach Requirements for all age classes:
- CRC – Criminal Record Check
- SDF – Screening Disclosure Form
- SST – SafeSport Training
- MHS – Making Headway in Sport
- MED – Making Ethical Decisions ONLINE EVALUATION
- FOV – Foundations of Volleyball eLearning
A HEAD COACH will be INELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE if the above mandatory requirements are not met.
DEADLINE FOR EXEMPTION REQUEST: 14 APRIL 2024
If the Exemption Request is not approved and the team is attending Volleyball Alberta Provincial Championships ONLY, a fine of $250 will be assessed and payable to Volleyball Alberta prior to the Provincial Championships.
(Once the fine is paid, the Head Coach will be deemed eligible to participate in the Provincial Championship.)
If the Exemption Request is not approved and the team is attending Volleyball Alberta Provincial Championships AND Volleyball Canada National Championships, a $250 fine will be assessed and payable prior to Provincials/Nationals to Volleyball Canada.
