Call for Nominations
The Volleyball Alberta Nominations and Awards Committee is currently gathering nominations to recognize outstanding achievements in Volleyball Alberta. The awards are presented in the following 5 categories:
Builder, Coach, Athlete, Team and Official.
Please take a moment to think about who should be honoured in any of the categories and consider nominating her or him for one of this year’s awards. To view a list of Volleyball Alberta’s Hall of Fame Inductees and their bios:

How to submit a nomination:
Step 1: Carefully review the award categories and determine which category is most appropriate
(selection criteria’s below)
Step 2: Prepare and collect 1) At least one letter of support for the nominee which should include comments on how the nominee has made a defining contribution to Volleyball in Alberta and the nominee’s demonstration of exemplary values and personal characteristics and 2) A listing of all the relevant information (accomplishments etc.) about the nominee.
Step 3: Complete the Nomination form on our website or print and email a copy of the PDF Nomination form
Step 4: Include a high quality, colour photograph of the nominee
Step 5: Ensure you have included all the items in Step 2, 3 and 4, above. Your nomination will not be processed without this information.

Volleyball Alberta Hall of Fame Selection Criteria
INDUCTION CATEGORIES
1. Athlete 2. Team 3. Coach 4. Official 5. Builder
1. ATHLETE
Must have participated in Volleyball Alberta programs for a minimum of two years (club and/or provincial team).
Accomplishments to be considered include:
i. Canadian National Championships at all levels.
ii. Canada Games participation and success.
iii. CCAA/CIS All-Canadian and/or Player of the Year Status.
iv. National Team participation and success.
v. World Championship and/or Olympic participation.
2. TEAM
Team must be based in Alberta during the time of the accomplishment(s). Team must have competed in a league or system that is recognized by Volleyball Alberta.
Accomplishments to be considered:
i. Exceptional single seasons
(ex; undefeated championship teams).
ii. Consecutive championship teams.
iii. Exceptional unbeaten streaks.
iv. Any other exceptional accomplishments.
3. COACH
Must have coached a minimum of five years in the Province of Alberta and in a league or system that is recognized by Volleyball Alberta.
Accomplishments to be considered include:
i. Team success.
ii. Individual athlete development and future success.
iii. Coaching awards and recognition received.
iv. Integrity and leadership.
v. Commitment to the development of athletes and the sport of volleyball.
4. OFFICIAL
Must have officiated a minimum of five years in the Province of Alberta and in a league or system that is recognized by Volleyball Alberta.
Accomplishments to be considered include:
i. Commitment to the sport of volleyball as demonstrated by years of service and activity.
ii. Assignment to major championships and events.
iii. Level of certification attained.
5. BUILDER
Must have served in a volunteer capacity in the Province of Alberta for a minimum of five years.
Accomplishments to be considered include:
i. Commitment to the sport of volleyball as demonstrated by years of service and activity.
ii. Extraordinary contributions to the development of volleyball programs or events in Alberta.
It is the responsibility of the nominator to include all relevant information to support the nomination
such as; letter of support, records, statistics, accomplishments, etc. in order to verify the merits of the candidate.
