Volleyball Alberta is excited to announce we are the recipients of the Every Kid Can Play Grant. The goal of this grant is to enhance and increase the affordability of our “GO Sports” Program.
What does this mean for clubs?
To grow this program, we are providing funding support up to $3500 for clubs to expand their early stages and recreation development programs. Early stages programs are sessions that target kids ages 6-12, whereas recreation development programs are targeted towards ages 13-17.
Funds can cover:
- Head coach training
- Coach Wages
- Facility Costs
- Equipment
- Administrative time (up to 10% of total amount requested)
Funds will not cover:
- Shirts or club swag
- Any equipment that cannot be reused by the club
- Any additional costs that are not associated with the early stages or recreation programs
- Coach Background Checks
Budget must break down cost per participants and state clearly any club revenue that will be collected from this program.
A part of being a grant recipient, all individuals who register in the proposed program but have all the registration go through sportlomo and every participant and coach must purchase the appropriate VA membership and coaches must have their PIA checks approved.
Coaches who participate in the program must take the Elementary Volleyball E-learning modules as a part of their training or have taken the Smashball Workshop (previously known as the Community Coach Workshop). Grant funding can be used to cover the cost of this training.

There will be two intakes for this grant.
Intake #1: October 8th, 2024 to November 14th, 2024. Application closes November 14th, 2024
Intake #2: January 5th, 2025 – February 5th, 2025. Application closes February 5th, 2025.
