National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. In order to redress the legacy of residential schools and advance Canadian reconciliation, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission presented 94 calls to action, with #87 – #91 addressing sports and reconciliation. The Reconciliation: A Starting Point mobile app is a reference tool for learning about First
Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples, including key historical events and examples of reconciliation initiatives.
